There is a German submarine that drowned in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean during World War II. Conflicts begin again when crew management operates within the submarine under many challenges and risks. They still face tense conflicts and long spaces, while Werner's war reporter faces daily life aboard the U-96. Conflict begins when the courageous captain struggles to maintain his own motives but still helps the team determine the type of risk to face.
It is unlike any other war film in that it confines the audience in a confined submarine where we digest the fear and panic of the human beings on screen. In short, "Das Boot" is a religious experience.
