After failing his parasite aptitude test, Hiro meets Zero Two by chance while skipping out on his squadmates' graduation ceremony. During his squadmates' start-up ritual, a klaxosaur approaches Cerasus. Zero Two pilots in stampede mode but is unable to defeat the klaxosaur, so Hiro offers to pilot with her. Together, they pilot Strelizia and defeat the klaxosaur.
