The film is about a boat ride involving a young man and woman on the beach. The story begins in a dilapidated Spanish hunting town where the duo experience their experience, but they may discover that this city is in the grip of an ancient marine deity and its ugly offspring that reflects the course of things.
There's nothing wrong with a well-done, atmospheric, spooky chiller, especially coming from a director far less frequently heard from than he deserves to be.
The setting is worth ogling when the women have their shirts on.
