This film explores the story of Captain John Yusarian (Alan Arkin), a pilot based in the Mediterranean. John performs dangerous missions through his work as he flies bombing missions during World War II. John is trying hard to escape from his painful position.
Though the vertiginously absurdist logic of the book is hopelessly fractured, some of it does filter through (the mostly superb performances are a great help).
