The constant terror in the forests is horribly repeated. It is a rescue mission in the rain forest Amazon by a professor during a film filmed by a missing documentary crew. After a short time, the man discovers that there is a great world of cannibalism that seems more dangerous and brutal and may transcend his perceptions of rudeness and create the images of chaos, terror and murder.
Rough, but it's an interesting type of sensationalism from a (thankfully) bygone production era. It's not a film to be enjoyed, but it certainly offers a singular genre bite that's impressively gonzo.
Its pointed attack on exploitative film-making seems somewhat rich in the circumstances, but this is well made, uniquely unpleasant and almost deserving of its huge cult status.
