Jerry Edgar has served alongside Bosch since he first joined the LAPD Homicide division. Beneath Edgar's battle-scarred exterior lays a reasonable and resourceful detective that serves to temper Bosch's darker side. Unlike Bosch, Edgar continues to stay a part of his children's lives and urges Bosch to do the same for Maddie.
