She was Coop's colleague as a man years before when she used to go by the name of Dennis. She starts wearing woman's clothes on a undercover case playing a transvestite, and realizes she feels more comfortable that way. She surprises Coop with her new look as a woman when she appears in Twin Peaks in episode 2.11.
