Introduced in the fourth season, Monica Rawling takes over as captain at The Barn after David Aceveda leaves the post. Rawling, contrary to Aceveda's approach, generally believes in Vic Mackey's police work and launches an investigation into Mackey's dealings primarily to prove Aceveda's thoughts about Mackey wrong. Still, this doesn't mean there is no tension at all in her relationship with Mackey. They get into some arguments, but there is generally a mutual respect between them. Rawling entrusts Mackey with a new asset forfeiture program that is intended to clean up the streets in Farmington.
