Firefighter Christopher Herrmann of Truck 81 is a family man who has lost his house through get-rich-quick schemes. Herrmann and his family live with his in-laws. Injured in the first episode, Herrmann is quickly back on his feet and it has the positive effect of bringing the team back together after the death of Andrew Darden.
