Shelby is Clark Kent's loyal dog. He was discovered by Clark and Lois when he, among other dogs, escaped a LuthorCorp facility that was testing the effects of kryptonite on domestic animals. His name was original Einstein by the researchers doing the testing. He represents the love that Clark feels when at home on the farm, and in fact once helped pull Clark back to reality when CK was trapped in an alternate mind as captive to a Phantom Zone escapee.
