Madison Clark is a high school guidance counselor and single mother (widowed) of two teenaged children: Nick, a drug addict dropout, and Alicia, a headstrong over-achiever.She is the stonefaced, dead behind the eyes matriarch of the Clark family. Having spent many of her peak years married to stroked out Dick Clark, Madison has developed a very strong coping mechanism that includes day drinking and staring off into space. Of course these things are understandable considering she spent years being the recipient of the annual Dick Clark stroked out sex session. Here's a little known fact about Dick Clark. He liked to count down from 10 during sex as well. Unfortunately for Madison, after the stroke, he often got confused and mixed the numbers up. The last session he counted down like this: 10...9...7...6...8...5...3...4...2...1...AMERICAN BANDSTAND! (He reserved Happy New Year for New Years Eve). After Dick died, Madison was left to juggle her daughter Alicia (who decided to be rebellious and date a black guy) and Nick (who got hooked on heroin and disappeared for long periods of time). Luckily for her she found pacifist Travis to be her newest boyfriend and although Travis may look like he's had a stroke, he's actually in complete control of his faculties.
