Michael is newly wed to Justine. He arrives with her at the manor of John, the husband of his sister-in-law Claire. He tries to reach out to the depressive Justine, but fails along the way. His attempts are serious and well-intentioned, but he has no means to help Justine. Finally, he has to give up.
