Debbie provides the damsel in distress for 'The Searchers'. She gets kidnapped at a very young age by Scar and the comanche tribe, when Ethan and Martin finally catch up with Debbie she seems to be fully integrated into tribe life, however Debbie is trying to persuade the two 'searchers' to leave whereby she would be protecting them from the immenant ambush. Ethan gets overtaken by his racial hatred and wants to kill her the first time they meet but Martin protects her. After Ethan goes through a catharsis he realises his past with Debbie and even without the restraint of Martin, Ethan chooses to save Debbie.
