Born and raised in the Midwest, David took his first acting class at The Purple Rose Theatre Company in his hometown of Chelsea, Michigan. He went on to study in the Bachelor of Fine Arts Theatre Program at Michigan State University. While in East Lansing he appeared on stage in John Steinbeck's classic "The Grapes of Wrath". After attending the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival at the University of Illinois in Champaign, he auditioned and was accepted into the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
