Paven was born in Leicester and grew up in Coventry.Paven's parents Bhajan Birk and Jasvir Kang are both writers of song, poetry and short stories. Her mother is also a radio presenter. She presents her own Punjabi radio show in Birmingham. Paven has two older siblings, one brother and one sister who both work in the arts.
