Conroy Gedeon is an Jamaican born actor and artist, know primarily for characters in "Star Trek III, The Search for Spock" and as Mercer Gilbert, Whitley's dad on "It's a Different World". He was also a re-occurring member of the cast of the acclaimed TV Series, Hard Copy (1987), Summer School (1987)numerous episodes of Dallas, Knots Landing and Dynasty. He has appeared on over 50 TV episodes and an equal number of TV commercials including the long running Coast Soap and Close-UP Toothpaste ads. He has also exhibited his art at several galleries in the Los Angeles area.
