Cortice Miles

Cortice Miles has served for over 18 years and is the Detective Sergeant of the Criminal Investigation Division at the Bessemer Police Department, AL. Cortice supervises the daily operations and investigations of the division. Cortice also serves as the departments Public Information Officer and licensed Polygraph Examiner. Cortice actively participates in community outreach by teaching and training the public concerning active shooter preparedness and various other law enforcement topics. Prior to law enforcement, Cortice served in the United States Army's prestigious 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. Cortice holds a BS in Criminal Justice (cum laude) and a Master of Public Administration, both from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
