Born on a hazy Alabama day in May 1988, Christopher Michael Clark (aka Chris Clark) was an exception to the rule from day one. His Mother, Cathy, a neurotic (but lovable) hairdresser of 20+ years said she knew Chris was turning everything upside down when he first tried to make an entrance. One cesarian-section and a couple of well administered pain killers later, and Chris was ready to take on the world. Chris spent the early part of his childhood being tormented and pestered by his authoritative and demanding older Sister (whom he dearly loves) Christy. She along with her minions of ridicule made it their Saturday night mission to hide behind chairs and wait for Chris to sit down, making creepy voices that caused him to cry. In fact, Chris was convinced until pre-pubescence that he was adopted and that his birth name was in fact, Boy George. Fortunately, that same nefarious Sister also was there to offer a shoulder to lean on and some very sound advice as the emotional roller-coaster of growing up reached it's last click uphill, taking off.Fast forward a few years and we've now introduced Chris's younger Brother, William Cody- a good ole boy with a penchant for mischief and a love of the outdoors, and a younger Sister, Casey- afraid of the dark, feared by anything furry and cute, but a heart of gold and comedic timing most could only dream of.Together these 6 were, The Family Clark. Albeit, the odd sheep (ask anyone...they'll all concur) it should come as no surprise that Chris had a flair for the dramatic, and a knack for comedy. Entertainment was an escape for Chris.Chris eventually found himself hot on the local Theatre scene in Huntsville, Alabama. Spanning an impressive number of 29+ productions over 9 seasons. Community Theatre provided a foundation of inappropriate life lessons and bad acting habits but above all, a love of the craft.By the time Chris reached High School he had ventured beyond the realm of Children's Theatre and began exploring the works of many reputable playwrights both onstage and off. It was then that he was able to begin (under the direction of some impressionable mentors) to find a voice for himself as a comedic actor. Splice in some teenage angst, a few run-ins with law enforcement, and a lesson or two in classic theatrical literature, and he was primed for college. Graduating a year early from High School (wink wink) Chris embarked on a journey of mutual agreement out of his Parents house and into the Freshman dorms at UA of Huntsville. It was there that while skipping English 101 Chris happened upon an orientation for the Disney College Program. 2 Months later and he's whisked away to overbearingly hot Orlando, Florida. to spend the next 3 months sweating out the previous nights vodka in a Goofy costume. As luck would have it during his tenure a post card arrived for his roommate touting AMDA- The American Musical and Dramatic Academy of New York City. Chris was terminated from the Magic Kingdom just in the knick of time to make it to Atlanta for an audition. After an agonizing summer back with his parents, Chris received a letter that would alter his life in the most american musical and dramatic kind of way. Accepted. The next few months were a blur, culminating in Chris landing in NYC in October of 2007. With less than 1500$ and a half baked dream, Chris began his formal training as an Actor in NYC. Most of Chris's professors at AMDA were less than thrilled with his class-clown antics, save two, Mark Riherd,-Acting Department Chair, and Stacy Lee Tilton- Musical Theatre. It was these two educators that would have a profound impact on Chris's life and career path. The next few years out of school were difficult for a 21 year old Theatre actor who was trying to transition to film. Countless auditions, and countless rejections, thankfully though, Chris never had to endure a bad tour of Children's Theatre.Chris's break came in 2010 when a week before opening, the producers of The Laramie Project called to let him know they were releasing an actor and wanted to recast. Chris had less than a week to learn 9 different roles but met the challenge head on. The show was a success and earned Chris his very first NYC- off off Broadway theatre credit. That same summer, Chris was cast sequentially in 3 student short films with Columbia University Film MFA. Chris was officially a film actor. Quickly cementing himself as the "sensitive and emotionally downtrodden guy next door", Chris began to make rounds in the film circuit in NYC.To date, Christopher has garnered 2 feature films to his name including working closely with Joel and Ethan Coen. In addition, Chris has starred in numerous shorts, TV shows, the odd web-series here and there, and a host of commercials and music videos/art films. Most recently Chris co-starred in RESET, Winner of Best Film at the 2014 NYC 48hr-Film Festival, it will screen this spring in Los Angeles at Filmapalooza.Currently (9/11/14), Chris is Executive Producing, Writing, and Directing his debut project, Lowered Expectations- A new comedy series about life, love, and a whole lotta shit in between. LE is based on his personal experiences as a young creative in NYC. Look for it, Spring 2015.When not working, Chris enjoys spending time with that same crazy family mentioned above, plus two additions, Mason- his 6 year old Nephew, and Molly- his 2 year old Niece. After all, who wants to be a parent when you can be a fun Uncle. Show less «
