Danny is an actor in New York City, with membership in SAG-AFTRA since 1998.Danny was born "Gee Kit Keung" (pronounced: G, Geat, Kern) in Hong Kong, China. His father was a professional chef and his mother, a seamstress. To this day, Danny cooks his own meals and does his own alterations.Danny immigrated to New York City, at the age of 3, and lived in Chinatown, New York City. In his early childhood, he attended St Joseph's School in the Village and acted in many of his school's theatrical productions. Acting was something he really enjoyed as a child. His fondest memory was playing the role of Santa Claus in one of the Christmas plays. In his teens, along with the usual routine of school and part time jobs, Danny extended his acting hobby by producing several Public Access shows, one of which had aired 42 episodes and had gathered quite the cult following. Danny said "it was a great feeling to have people on the street say hello because they have seen the shows". Danny would also spend several afternoons a week catching new releases at the Cineplex Odeon Theater in the Newport Mall across the Hudson. In college, Danny studied acting in whatever classes was offered at the University, and also took acting classes at other schools outside of the campus, mostly at HB studios on bank street.Danny's acting hobby was put on the back burner as he, like any other responsible adult, worked the 9-5 (with Citibank) after he was finished with school. One day in 1996, he ran into the biz while leaving work, he accidentally walked in on the set of Daylight, which was filming in Chinatown, and was rounded up with the rest of the extras because he stopped to chat with a group of nice looking girls that were actually extras on the street. Danny spent the rest of the day hanging out with the nice extras on Daylight, and it left a positive impression.A year later, Al Pacino and Jerry Orbach went to Chinatown to film "Chinese Coffee", and of course Danny was getting out of work and ran into the set. He hung out for a while and was really enjoying everything about the set from the nice people to the free food. On that set, he met the extras casting director, and was invited to register at their Chinatown office. Danny decided to register.Sometime after that, Danny got a call from the extras casting office to work in a film called "Return to Paradise". It happened to be on his day off from work so he took the gig, It was a very early call and he took a production bus from Chinatown to Philadelphia and shot inside some historic prison made to look like a prison in Malaysia. The day was long, and it was cold, but it was fun. Danny was asked back for two more days on that project and nicely it all happened to be on his days off from the bank.Danny later got bored of working at Citibank and decided to join the Army National Guard because he saw a banner on 24th street saying it is America's best part time job.A week after he returned from the National Guard, Danny got a call from the same extras casting. They wanted him to work on the film "The Corruptor", and since Danny was free, he took the gig, He worked a couple of days on that film and realized that he could be happy to pursue showbiz as a career. So from hobby to jobs, and jobs led to other jobs, showbiz work became Danny's full time pursuit, naturally, union membership became a necessary reality and work begets work as they say.Danny, with his background in acting, naturally found gigs acting as well. Danny has since acted in many productions with professional principal roles in Film, TV and Commercials. Danny has worked along side exciting talent such as Justin Timberlake, Bill Hader and T Sean Shannon, and in commercials for many top companies such as Subway sandwiches, Mercedes Benz, Verizon wireless.Though now the acting work takes priority over the extra work, Danny still loves to do extra work in between acting jobs whenever he is free.
