Zaila L.S. Matthews

Zaila is a born and raised native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is of Italian, Spanish, Irish and Welsh Decent. She discovered a passion for acting at 5 as an Extra on a feature film set and began studying & education on the craft at 7. Attending film and theater classes to add to her training.Now early in her career she has been very successful doing Student Films and has landed lead and or supporting roles in each. Frequently plays older characters because of her maturity. Zaila is comfortable with any Genre but loves dramatic edgy roles and is extremely versatile from gritty, emotional, to comical.She enjoys making her own special effects make up, has good witty improvisation skills, learns, retains, interprets lines amazingly quick.Long term, looking forward to being a filmmaker and editing her own films planning to acquire equipment piece by piece to fulfill that goal.
