His fight against steroids and corruption in the BB Business makes him an outsider and for the big business leaders of muscles a "Bad Boy of Bodybuilding". Because he started in a lighter class he never had competition against Arnold Schwarzenegger (until 1979 there were two classes, lightweight and heavyweight).
