Jak Wyld was born in the UK and moved to New Zealand when he was 13. After graduating high school he enlisted in the New Zealand Military and for ten plus years was deployed all over the world. In 2001 he embarked on his next mission, to follow his passion and become an actor. Whilst studying with Action Workshops and TVNZ he was cast in several of New Zealand's top TV shows. In 2003 Wyld moved to Sydney, Australia. After working on multi awarding winning TV and film there, he secured a lead role as the brooding Cpl Updike in Stephen Amis's award winning classic sci-fi/action film 'The 25th Reich'. In May 2014 Jak traveled back to NZ to play the pivotal role of Detective Derek Foster in the long running, multi award winning show "Shortland Street".
