Born and raised in San Jose, California, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, and graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a Bachelor's degree in Film. His senior student film, Tiger Trap, will screen at the Santa Cruz Film Festival in October 2019.
