He has recorded Mozart's music in his native London with the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, the chamber orchestra he founded and organized thirty-eight years ago. Since then, he has established what Time magazine has called"an international reputation for lively, graceful, intelligently shaped performances, especially of the baroque composers, and Mozart.
