When she was 8, she saw an article about some local filmmakers looking for extras for their Christmas slasher "Christmas Cruelty!" and made her father contact them. The directors, Magne Steinsvoll and Per-Ingvar Tomren gave both Nina-Shanett and her father parts as extras, but when they saw how talented she was they were blown away, and decided to give her a much bigger part in the movie.
